SWEET: I won't even go into my last experience, as most people know about it. I will, however, go into Sarah's. Sarah had her first meeting with a guy from a certain Internet dating site that shall remain nameless. It went OK. She wasn't completely disgusted by him (which this Internet dating site would likely consider a successful date), yet she wasn't swept off her feet.
Today, she returned to work to find this e-mail:
"yesterday was not that bad. Was it? :-). We should probably do it
again some time. what do you think?"
To which Sarah says to me:
I love that it was "not that bad," and he, in fact, is not even sure that it wasn't that bad.
It wasn't that bad. It wasn't good though. That's for sure.
Yes, single life is interesting -- you get some good stories if nothing else. And it's fun in the very beginning, because even though you're having to deal with the awkward, uncomfortable, weird first dates (who may or may not pretend like they got arrested following your dinner) -- they are just FIRST DATES. There are no serious feelings or grand expectations, and there's no real danger of getting hurt (unless of course you end up going out with some crazy Internet stalker. But really, I don't think the Internet stalkers are really into paying the expensive membership fees required to join this certain Internet dating service).
And the best thing about first dates is when they end -- and you can immediately call up your friends and make fun of them. And perhaps write blogs as well.

Cracks me up, man. Cracks me up.
I was talking to my sister about my recent dealings with boys (or, men, whatever) and she was like "They don't have game! They need to get game!"
That cracked me up as well.
