Super-cute notepad from Dollar Tree. $1 for this precious pig notepad! I know, you might be asking, "What in the world would I need such a thing for?" But trust me, it is very cute and handy.
Yep ... here it is. A bottle of $2.97 wine from Wal-Mart. I am not ashamed. During this economic crisis, we need to focus more on quantity for the money rather than quality for the money. Cheers!
Continuing on the Wal-Mart theme, so sorry if anyone is one of those Wal-Mart haters. Here's my new dress -- $9. Nine freakin dollars!
Scenery -- free. I think it's fate that my apartment is surrounded by these hot pink flowered trees.
Basil -- free. I grew it myself! Granted, I have yet to, you know, actually use it, except for our Pesto 101 session (described here and pictured here when rougeneck cooked it.
UPDATE: More on Pesto 101.
Anyway, here it is, growing in all its glory on my balcony.
And finally, another one of my Dollar Tree obsessions ... candles. And candle holders. Naturally everything at Dollar Tree is actually $1, unlike those other "dollar" stores. So these holders are actually really nice and heavy glass holders. And the candles are pretty and they smell good. Please note: they are not normally positioned on the edge of the table, but since this has become my "home office" aka "job search headquarters," that's where they currently reside.
So those are my first examples of SWEET and Cheap. But this wouldn't be my blog without something negative, right? So I leave you with this, sans picture, because yuck.
SOUR: Jack in the Box just advertised a new cheap special. For $2.99 you get a cheeseburger, a taco, fries and a drink. A cheeseburger AND a taco? Why?

I now want to go shopping at the Dollar Tree... and a taco... and a hamburger.
No! No hamburger and taco combination! You are a bean burrito and water girl.
But Dollar Tree? It is fantastic. You just let me know and we will go.
I saw my wine and had to post immediately. I couldn't even finish reading and will go back and do it in a moment but without further ado....
The Oak Leaf Pinot Grigio/Chardonnay is the Tharp Family house wine! LOVE IT! It's actually very good too. So much so, that my parents gave me a bottle for my birthday...LOL and awesome! (Side note: I don't enjoy the red wine, but if you do, Banrock Station is also available at the Wal-Mart for cheap and apparently quite tasty.)
I really appreciate a good deal. I'm excited about this SWEET and cheap being a regular feature.
Haha, Tharp Family house wine!! I've definitely had the pinot grigio and like it as well!
You turned me on to those candles and holders. I went and bought three after I saw yours... but I'm out of candles.
