Letting go

SWEET: You know, in these "tough economic times" (I am so freaking sick of that expression I could scream, yet I still feel the need to use it), it's easy to get stressed out and worked up and overwhelmed and all that. We find ourselves worrying about everything, overanalyzing little things and becoming generally pessimistic and cynical. Will I get laid off? Will I find myself homeless? Should I really refrain from buying the Bath & Body Works peppermint lotion this time? WHY DOES MY CAT CONTINUE TO WOUND ME EVEN THOUGH I FEED HER THE FINEST PURINA IN ALL THE LAND?

Phew.

Anyway, it's critical that in times like these, we find ways to de-stress and we allow ourselves to laugh. This is especially effective when we can laugh at ourselves. So, I offer to you, my friends, one of the most fantastic e-mails I ever receieved in all my 29 years. Refer to it often whenever you need to take things less seriously. From Becky:

This should perk you up…I think it’s hilarious….HOT MESS ALERT!!!!!

Whenever I start to take things too seriously…I like to sneak a peek.

A-hahahahahahahahahahaha. I swear, this CRACKS me up. What's really amusing is how I looked on the return trip home...

Actually...I think I look exactly like a bug! Antenna and all! I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed looking at a picture of myself quite this much. And that is saying a lot coming from me. :)
